Vitiligo has to be stabilised before any improvement can be expected. Stability simply refers to lack of spread of the condition. One of the methods to stop the spread of vitiligo includes the taking of Betamethasone/Dexamethasone on two days a week (usually Saturday and Sunday) for up to 3 months. This medication not only arrests the spread of vitiligo but helps in repigmentation of the white spots. If your vitiligo is spreading, it is important to head to your dermatologists office and discuss the options of treatment. Stop the spread now, before it becomes too extensive to treat.
